I have been playing a little with my latest toy, and being a newbie at this DSLR, I find myself clueless about the various variables, but I am amazed at what this machine, with the help of a fast prime, can do.

My main subject is 樂樂, and I think it is obvious from the pictures that they are not taken with a point and shoot. I could have done better with the composition, but I could only manage getting the shot out, and I had problems getting the focus point right, not to say the composition.

But I can improve, and I am very, very pleased with my new toy. Woot! :)

After talking about my frustrations, I have finally gotten a new toy. :)

I got myself a spanking new 50d yesterday, and I'm playing around with it. I will need to spend some time to get used to a much more powerful camera than what I'm used to, but I'm very impressed with its capabilities :)

Will keep you updated on my progress into the new world of DSLR. Woot!

I have been busy with work lately. I'll talk more about that later, but it has been quite some time since I updated on 樂樂's development.

He first learnt how to roll over when he was 4 months old, able to sit by himself, grab stuff with both hands, crawl when he was 6 months old, stood with support when he was 7 months old, and without support when he was 8 months old. Today he is 9 months old, and he is able to speak a few words. Mama, Dada, Bear Bear, and Apple. He crawls around very quickly, chasing his toys around. He knows how to clap and wave goodbye upon prompting.

According to the teachers at his infant care, he is the fastest growing infant, in terms of motoring skills and speech, in the history of the infant care. I'll probably take that with a pinch of salt, but 樂樂 is undeniably developing at a tremendous pace. To be honest, the only thing that we wish for him is to be healthy, but we are both terribly happy and proud of him.

I have uploaded a fair bit of photos, so hit the link.

We have entered 樂樂 in a photo contest, and we need your help to vote for him :)

Please vote for him at this link, and Jas can become a 星媽. :p

Thanks! :)

I just had a very nice weekend.

On Saturday, I joined my colleagues for a game of footie. It has been a loooong time since I played on a pitch; and I was actually surprised that my boots seemed to be in working order. We actually had a combined team of colleagues and 1 of my colleague's usual football buddies. Our opponents were from a law firm, I think. But the main thing was, I played in central midfield. Me. Never exercised for ages. Central midfield. And I actually scored a goal! Woot!

We managed to score quite a big margin in our victory, you can read about it here, or take a look at our team photo here.

樂樂's infant care was closed on Monday (Teachers' Day), and so Jas and I took a day's leave, and we stayed over at Beaufort on Sentosa. We checked in after lunch, and our room was small but comfortable. Even though we requested for a king-sized bed, we got something that is definitely bigger. It was wider than it was long, and 樂樂 was extremely happy with the bed and many pillows, rolling and bouncing all over.

We brought him to Underwater World, and he seemed fascinated with the exhibits. But he was very uncomfortable when we went on the travellator. It was really, really crowded, we barely had room to stand, and there were lots of people talking, taking photos, and I think the combination of all that overloaded his senses.

In the end, we went back to our room, and we stayed in the room, except for dinner and breakfast the next day, which we took in the hotel itself. The weather was not that good, slight drizzle and breezy, and we were not that keen to bring him out. Besides, we had lots of fun with 樂樂. He was in an extremely good mood for the entire stay. When he was napping, we would clean his stuff, catch a little TV, and read the newspapers, and before we knew it, he was awake and greeting us with a big smile again.

It has been a relaxing weekend, and very good for me actually. My project is starting to pick up steam, and I will be traveling to India next week. It was nice to take a break to recharge. I have Jas to thank for organizing the entire thing, including paying for it as well. :)

I will try to upload some photos, either tonight or later. I need to rush some documentation out tonight, so no promises.

Photos uploaded.
