Jas likes taking photographs, and I have bought 3 different cameras for her over the years.

The first was a Casio S1. It was a very basic digital camera with only 1.2 MP resolutionIt was also her first digital camera. The picture quality was nothing great, but startup time was fast, and it was really, really slim.

After a while, I think the low resolution was getting on our nerves, so I bought her a new camera, the S500, also from Casio.

Earlier this year, the camera started to show some tantrums, and so I bought her another one, the Canon IXUS 860 IS. It's a 8 MP camera, and it comes with the excellent Digic III image processor, which is technologically more advanced than other point-and-shoots. Besides that, there are some fine grained controls to boost the image processing.

However, it is still a point-and-shoot. There are still some things that it can't do. I can twiddle with the controls till death, but there are some shots that are impossible using that camera.

I am yearning for a DSLR, but it is not a cheap outlay, and I don't want to splash the cash and end up with something that gathers dust. But 1 motivating factor is that I know I can take better pictures of 樂樂, so I guess that will keep me going for a while.

I have some housekeeping and cleaning to do in my study. Once I'm done with that, we shall see...

樂樂 is able to sit by himself. Woot!

He was already crawling for a few weeks before that, and we spotted him navigating himself into a sitting position on Monday evening. The teachers at the infant care also noticed that he was able to sit by himself.

He has also put back on some weight (7.2kg), and although he's still scrawny, it's a relief to Jas and I that he is not losing weight anymore.

I promise that I'll upload some photos soon. :)

Update: photos are uploaded.

Dude, have a good one today. Happy birthday :)

樂樂 was discharged on Saturday. He is still on antibiotics but he is recovering well.

He seems happier back in familiar surroundings, and we had much fun over the weekend, although we only brought him out for some simple shopping.

In fact, he is back to the infant care today, and the teachers seem happy to see him after a week of absence.

I'll upload some photos of his adventures at the hospital soon :)

樂樂 was admitted to hospital on Tuesday.

He has not been perfectly healthy for a month or so, due to the phlegm and cough, resulting from his sensitive airway. In fact I just took him to the doctor on Monday. On Monday night, he was feverish in the evening, and his temperature was 39.3 at its highest. We took him to a 24 hour clinic, and was prescribed fever medicine.

His temperature came down pretty soon after taking the medicine, but at 4 in the morning, he was cold to touch, and his whole body was shivering. At that time, he did not have a fever, so we covered him with blankets, but by 6, his fever had come back.

We brought him to the doctor Tuesday morning, and the doctor diagnosed that he had an infection, but needed more tests to be sure. We admitted him to the hospital directly, and later that day, the doctor concluded, from the tests results, that he had urinal tract infection.

His temperature continued to fluctuate between 37 and the upper 39s, and the nurses were quick to bring down his temperature. After his temperature has stablized, he was on antibiotics for the UTI. Today, he is finally off the antibiotics. He is practically fine now, except that we need to wait till tomorrow for his latest test results.

If everything goes well, he should be discharged tomorrow. I don't have time to write much, both Jas and I are eager to bring him home soon. Thanks to those who visited or sent us their best wishes. I'll write more once we've settled down at home.
