The weekend that has just passed marked several milestones for us.

It is probably not counted as a milestone, but 樂樂 attended his first birthday party. Cousin David celebrated his first birthday and Diana invited us to their place. It was decorated with lots of confetti and balloons; there was even a tub of colourful balls.

Today, or what's left of it, marks a major milestone. It was on this day, 2 years ago, that we are proclaimed man and wife. To celebrate the occasion, we decided to go on a date without 樂樂.

We haven't been to a cinema for quite some time, so we caught Kungfu Panda. We had watched bits and pieces on DVD before, and it was a "friendly" DVD, so we thought we should just spend 2 carefree hours and have a laugh. It was pretty good, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Since we were at Vivo, we went shopping afterwards. Actually, we didn't do much shopping either. Mostly, we got daily stuff, like groceries and some work clothes for Jas etc. That's it. We headed home after that. We didn't do anything wild or adventurous, but both Jas and I really enjoyed our time.

Personally, I think it is 2 milestones lumped into 1. We are starting to let go, and just find time to do things without him. To be fair, we were thinking of him most of the time we were out, but I think this is a good start. Gradually, we have to let him learn how to get along with other care takers beside his infant care teachers, Jas and I.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Jas' sister, Wendy. She has been of great help to us, helping to take care of 樂樂. It is not only today that she helped; she also helped us a lot when 樂樂's infant care was closed previously. She pats him to sleep, carries him when he is cranky, feeds him when he is hungry, bathes him, feeds him medicine, and applies the nebulizer as well. She adores him, and we trust her completely when 樂樂 is in her care.

So there you go, milestones in our family. We can't wait for the next ones.

P.S.
1. Jas got me a Borders membership card, and I got her a really sexy gadget. Nasty eh?
2. I will upload some photos tomorrow. My ISP bandwidth is pretty bad at the moment. Photos are uploaded.

I had a mild allergy attack last night.

I have a allergy to prawns. More specifically, I have a allergy to prawns that are not washed thoroughly. My condition is pretty mild; I only get some itchiness in my throat. The last time I got rashes was when I was still in Beijing.

I had an Ebi Rice Burger from MOS Burger last night for dinner, and by 9, I found that I had rashes breaking out on my back. Luckily, I know that the yellow flu pills (forgot the name) that I always pack for my travels cures rashes as well. I popped 2, and the rashes subsided soon. The only bad thing was that I was drowsy soon after.

I guess I'm lucky in that my allergy is not very serious. Still, there is hope. Some scientists have found a plan that may eradicate it in the future. For now, the second answer here provides a solution.

Reservist is finally over. I have attended 7 ICTs, and I should have 3 more to go. The good news that I found out during this ICT is that I was downgraded, so I am no longer eligible for IPPT. Better late than never, I guess.

Anyway, I had a commander that, by the end of the first week, my opinion was that if there is a war, I will run away instead of fighting under him. By the second week, I had changed my mind. If there is a war, the first person I'll shoot is him. For a commander, indecision is fatal. Instead of commanding, he worries over little stuff that will serve him better if he had delegated them. I'm really glad that this year's ICT is over.

Bad news on the domestic front though, 樂樂 is down with cough and phlegm in his lungs again. He is on medication, and his condition has improved, and his next appointment is next Wed. Given his history, Jas and I are very concerned, and monitoring the situation closely.

I've uploaded photos at the usual place.

I started my 2 weeks of national service in-camp training this Monday. It has been fine so far, a nice change from work.

Oh, and I got myself a brand new phone. It has all I need. Quadband, bluetooth, 3.5G, music player, and most importantly, NO CAMERA. There is a non-camera version of the E51. Wonderful stuff. On a side note, colleagues and former colleagues who have worked with me at my current job will understand the strange feeling of linking to an A4 link. The marketing URL doesn't seem to work though. Heh.

Anyway, with Euro 2008 around, I have less time to blog, but I will write more soon. :)

樂樂 was experiencing some hair loss, especially at the top of his head in addition to cradle cap, so we cut off his hair over the weekend. :)

Photos are uploaded.
